On September 26-29, 2024 the Book Nation festival was held in Kyiv, where Leleka Foundation participated by organizing a charitable initiative focused on donating used books to support tactical medicine.
We were heartened by the enthusiastic response of festival attendees, who engaged actively with our pop-up charity bookstore in support of field medics. Many visitors sought out Leleka’s tent, bringing along bags of cherished books. They shared their experiences on social media and browsed our shelves, contributing to our cause with every book selected.
The guests at Leleka’s booth included military personnel, bloggers, students, young mothers, retirees, businesspeople, writers, and social activists — many of whom have long supported our foundation. A particularly poignant visit came from the mother of fallen combat medic Mykyta Ruban, known by his call sign "Fox", The woman traveled from Mykolaiv specifically to visit the festival and choose books at our booth.
Thanks to this tremendous support, we successfully donated over a thousand used books and raised more than US$ 8,000, which will go toward purchasing essential tactical medicine for frontline medics.
