Leleka Foundation has launched a new media project in partnership with the Prolonged Field Care Podcast, creating a platform for Ukrainian frontline medics to share firsthand field trauma-care experience with American counterparts.
The project is designed to bring the realities of frontline medicine in Ukraine directly to a professional audience in the United States, giving Ukrainian medics space to speak about evacuation, prolonged care, mass-casualty response, and the changing demands of trauma treatment in a drone-dominated war.

The Prolonged Field Care Podcast is a project of the Prolonged Field Care Working Group. Founded in 2014, it aims to freely share lessons learned, best practices, and practical knowledge from austere medicine to help medics provide the best possible care in the most difficult conditions.
The partnership builds on Leleka’s broader mission to help Ukrainian frontline medics save lives and reflects the organization’s growing focus on sharing practical medical knowledge between Ukrainian and U.S. trauma communities. “This work includes direct support for medics through tactical medical supplies, as well as a wider effort to build exchange between Ukrainian and American trauma experts,” explains Vadim Geshel, Leleka’s President.
By recording these conversations in podcast format, the project aims to do more than tell stories. It seeks to preserve frontline knowledge, expand international awareness, and turn frontline experience into lessons that can inform emergency and trauma response far beyond Ukraine.
“For Leleka, the initiative is also part of a larger advocacy effort: making sure the voices of Ukrainian medics are heard not only as witnesses to war, but as professionals whose experience has urgent value for the global medical community,” adds Geshel. As frontline conditions continue to evolve, especially under the constant threat of drones, Leleka has increasingly emphasized that Ukraine’s trauma-care lessons are relevant internationally.
The new podcast collaboration positions Ukrainian medics not only as recipients of support but as contributors to the global conversation on survival, evacuation, and emergency care under extreme conditions.
